Supporting NDR
Supporting rescue doesn't just mean adopting a dog. NDR is a privately funded, all-volunteer rescue organization. Monetary donations are always appreciated, and 100% of your donations go directly to the medical and daily care of the dachshunds in our rescue. See below for other ways you can help!

Nyla and Tascha....THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!! Nyla Polito and Tascha Renken, two of our dedicated volunteers, organized a garage sale at Nyla's house and they donated 100% (100%!!!) of the profits to....US! They worked very hard to secure item donations from friends, family, and NDR. Auggie (Nyla's husband) cooked and sold hotdogs at lunchtime. Nyla's sister was the resident 'garage sale expert' and...IT SHOWED! Many many people were integral parts to making this a successful garage sale. THANK YOU doesnt even begin to tell you how much we appreciate all the time and effort put in by you and your families. With some of the profits, NDR is donating a custom front-end cart to our little double-front-leg-handicapped pup, Tanner. His mommy (ex-foster mommy), Carla, documents all of little Tanner's progress. Check out her videos of Tanner's progress. This money will take care of Tanner's needs and help our organization get a little bit closer to its goal of having our own wiener dog shelter!! They did SO WELL with this garage sale, that NDR is planning a huge Bazaar, Garage Sale, Estate Sale, Rummage Sale, Boutique, Flea Market...WHATEVER you want to call it...EVENT in the Spring of 2010. We'll think of a good name for it  : )  So, before you donate those gently used items to the Goodwill, think of NDR!

	Volunteer for Nebraska Dachshund Rescue Job Openings:
Volunteers Are Always Needed! - Your duties at events will be to hand out brochures, talk about our foster dogs (our goal is to have three or four foster dogs there at all times), talk about fostering/adoption opportunites, help people fill out applications, sell t-shirts/pins/toys/magnets, walk the foster dogs around the event, etc... Every volunteer gets one of our awesome looking cloisonne pins. Foster Advocate - A foster advocate is the caseworker for each dog that comes into rescue. The FA is assigned when a dog arrives into rescue, is the point of contact for the foster family and then helps the foster family decide which family is the best for the dog. The Foster Advocate is the dog's voice while in rescue. Each caseworker is assigned 1-3 dogs. Requirements: Passion for helping dogs in need, email, telephone Estimated time: 3 hours per week
Transportation - Dogs frequently need to shuttled to/from vet appointments, to foster home and dogs coming into rescue. Requirements - Passion for helping dogs in need, email, telephone, car
Fundraising - NDR relies on donations to help raise money for vet care. We need help in soliciating donations from vendors for events and raffles. This involves sending a donation letter requesting a donation, distributing event flyers, and calling vendors to ask for a donation. Requirements - Passion for helping dogs in need, email, telephone, friendly voice and persistance.

Other ways to assist us are by donating dog-related items needed below:
